Bowen led the design and implementation of a market share system for all industry brands of cigarettes. This included database (DB2) and front-end. The front-end was designed with a dynamic SQL building code based on the navigation set on the star schema. This allowed for 50 concurrent users on Macintosh. Working with an economist, Bowen integrated custom confidence intervals which led to the significant decision of Philip Morris to discount Marlboro in order to gain market share.
