Boeing CPS Link to heading

Bowen was the technical lead for a proposal to Boeing. He designed the architecture and RFP for a proposed system that replace the current cost planning system for all of Boeing’s commercial and classified projects. This system was proposed for 5,000 users worldwide and would involve on the order of 17,000 active multidimensional models on an annual basis. Bowen worked with Answerthink’s sales team in conjunction with Hyperion and another vendor that he brought into the solution. Ultimately Answerthink won selection which took place over 14 months and originally included 12 vendors. Boeing decided however not to immediately build the system because of budget constraints.

Bowen led all aspects of back-end and ETL and database design, prototype construction and performance testing using the following technologies: Mercury LoadRunner, Essbase 64 Bit Server (on HP Superdome), IBM Websphere and associated tools.

POC Abstract Link to heading

This Proof of Concept (POC) aims to evaluate the functionality, performance, and scalability of Hyperion’s technology to support 3,000–4,000 concurrent users, with the ability to scale in line with Boeing’s projected growth. A portion of the POC will be developed offsite before being replicated and expanded onsite at Boeing, with designated Boeing team members participating to facilitate knowledge transfer. Hyperion will also provide onsite training for key Boeing personnel involved in the POC. Performance and scalability testing will be conducted at both Hyperion and Boeing locations using standard testing software.
